Highly practical with the majority of the time spent on the water. You do not require any pre course experience or knowledge. This course provides a short introduction to sailing for novices. By the end of the course, participants will have a basic understanding of boat handling techniques and background knowledge and you will be able to sail in all directions relative to the wind direction. The course also gives you an awareness of how to launch away from the shore and land to the shore. The course takes two days and once completed you have to skills to sail solo in light winds under supervision. It is recommended that all participants consolidate this short course with the RYA Level 2 course.
